Summer in Wuhan Part 2

Conquer holiday's laziness is accomplished!

This post is still about my Wuhan experience due to summer school. I didn't waste my time by only stayed in the hotel when the class was over. I choosed to go around Wuhan.. many times by myself, which is crazy enough. There was always a chance for me to get lost there. Most of Wuhan (or Chinese) people don't speak English. Such a great combination of disaster. And the fact was.. every people I met there considered me as local resident based on my face for sure. So unfair I guess, when I can't speak Chinese at all.

Okay, back to the topic.

Inia's friend invited us to go to heritage area (too bad I forget the name) in Wuhan. Actually, it was one of our agenda besides went to church that's still in the same area. This place is full of old buildings, most of them was built in 60's, and now the buildings are used as shops. They sold postcards, handmade accesories (bags, necklaces, bracelets, etc.), paintings (yelled by old lady here because I supposted to be not took any picture here), and of course.. foods. The place was so crowded on weekend like typical tourist attraction. One thing I put my attention for: These buildings are well maintained. I can see the goverment's concern on keep their heritage for generations.

In the next route, we went to the street-market area. This place is MORE crowded than the heritage area. Never saw foods as much as this for the rest of my life. The pork-stick captivated me at first. But I choosed something more refreshing because I started to feel thirsty after a long walk. Yes, finally grabbed a fruit-bowl on my hands. It included slice of cherries, grape-like fruits (?). dragon fruits, green grapes, watermelons, strawberries, etc., with milk on the top. Yum!

On the other day, I went to Optics Valley Square by train. Thank God I didn't get lost and got back to the hotel safely. And another good news was I can read Hanzi (Chinese Letter) right! In this place, there are a lot of shopping malls with many variations of price. What a true reliever for girls! I successfully walked around 3 malls in a day, of course with the comfiest footwear I have (re. flip flops). With (not really) satisfied feeling, I have to return because the last train is only until 11 P.M.

The point is, people life in the modern world without forget where they came from. What a great pleasure to know you, Wuhan.

Enjoy the pictures!
